Karen Godfrey began her career in above-the-line marketing, working for some of Australia’s best ad agencies, including Leo Burnett and Clemenger. This beginning equipped Karen with solid skills in strategic brand development and the discipline required to execute large scale, national campaigns.
Karen then ventured to the UK where she gained valuable experience working with Momentum Worldwide, a below-the-line communications agency, and BT (British Telecom) during an era when the potential of the Internet as a marketing tool was only just being discovered.
On return to Australia, Karen joined the ‘dot com’ world as Marketing Manager of an Internet media company. During this time her experience in integrated marketing communications was truly consolidated, as she solely managed a multi million dollar campaign that included television, radio, press, magazine, promotions, online, e-newsletters, event management and sponsorship.
Before starting JIVE, Karen took this integrated experience to several other marketing communication agencies between 2002 and 2011 – Communicado, The Bridge, Kaleidoscope, Apollo (now MKTG) – working with brands such as Devondale, Lavazza, Big M, Holeproof, SPC and Bulla.
Since 2011, Karen has helped many SMEs in both the consumer and B2B sector, including Ward McKenzie, The Orient Express, Sofa & Soul, DuPont, Provenance Wines, Colorific, Collaborative Design Space, REI Super, Lounge Designer Furniture and Result Group. As well as offering her specialist skills to larger companies, such as McCains Foods, PZ Cussons and Murray Goulburn.
Karen has a first class Bachelor of Business degree in Marketing/Economics.
